Reservations – Requests

Does it cost me anything to make a condominium request?
Normally, your condominium request will be fulfilled at the time of your call. However, if there is no available inventory when or where you wish to vacation we will take a request and happily do a search for you. A $50.00 deposit is taken at the time you place your request; however, this deposit is fully refundable in the event you cancel your request prior to confirmation, or if we are unable to fulfill your request. If an exact match is offered (unit size and dates), and you decline the week, the $50.00 deposit is forfeited. If you accept the confirmed condominium, the $50.00 will be applied towards your balance.

Do I have to stay a full week at my condominium?
A full-week stay is not required. Although if you are unable to check in on the date specified on your confirmation, you must notify the resort, you may check out when you please.

Reservations – Confirmations

How long does it take to confirm a condominium request?
The time it takes to confirm your vacation request will depend on both the area(s) and date(s) you request. Many requests are confirmed during your initial phone call! If your request is not confirmed during your initial phone call, your vacation counselor will be able to give you an idea of how long it will take to confirm.

“What are the check in / check out days?”
As a guideline, vacation properties will choose a particular day of the week as their check in and check out days, which are usually Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Please keep this in mind when choosing your travel week.

“When should I expect confirmation for my request?”
You can expect a response approximately 6-8 weeks before your earliest request date.

Property Information

What does a standard condominium include?
Most standard units include fully-equipped kitchens, televisions, VCRs, and telephones. Some units include ceiling fans, decks or patios, and washers and dryers for your convenience.

Are all condominiums in a resort where there are resort amenities?
The vast majority of condominiums are in a resort setting; however, we do have some rural areas where our condominiums are upscale cabins or single-structure accommodations. Your vacation counselor will, at the time of confirmation, inform you as to the type of condominium and the amenities.

Are pets allowed in condominiums?
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in condominium units.

General Information

Will booking a condominium listed on the Advantage Hotline affect the number of weeks I have available for the year?
Absolutely not! You may book as many weeks from The Advantage Hotline listings as you want! Because we commit to thousands of condominium units per year, and most of these are on a year-round basis, we always have inventory that we will discount and offer on the Hotline as an additional benefit of your membership.

What if we want to take a cruise that is not a Member Appreciation Cruise or one on which you do not have group space?
We are here to book any cruise on which you want to go, and we will take the time to research and find additional discounts and upgrades that other agencies, not specializing in cruises, are not aware of. On top of that, we offer our Cruise Savings Guarantee that flatly guarantees you that we will save you at least 5% off any non-group written quote you receive (the booking must be available to us).

What types of bookings does our Membership provide?
As a full-service Travel Agency, bonded by the Airline Reporting Corporation, we are capable of booking all standard types of agency bookings for airlines, hotels, rental cars, cruises and vacation packages.

What is the minimum age requirement to rent a car?
All rental companies have a minimum age requirement, usually 25.
Some will rent to those 21 years old with a surcharge, which tend to range from $5.00 to $25.00 a day. Ask about this policy if you are under 25.
Some rental car companies will rent to those 18 and above in certain situations. Government or Military personnel on official business are often allowed to rent. Some companies will rent a car as an insurance replacement vehicle.
The minimum age requirement applies to the renter as well as any additional drivers.

Do I have to return the car to the same location?
Not always, some rental companies allow you to drop off their car at their other locations in town, in other cities or even other states.
You’ll need to ask at the time the reservation is confirmed about each particular case to see if it is allowed.
You’ll also need to know the cost since there is usually a charge for this convenience.
Some companies have special low shuttle rates available between two popular locations.
Some companies have special low rates available if they need the car moved to another location. Often, parts of rental fleets are moved south to north for the summer and north to south for the winter to adjust for seasonal needs. So, if you do happen to be going that way you can really find some good deals

How far can I drive the car?
Ask about any mileage charges and limitations at the time the reservation is confirmed.
There may be limits placed on the mileage if you take the vehicle out of state. There may be mileage limits for certain types of vehicles especially specialty or luxury vehicles. If you go over these limits, the charges can add up quickly.

Can I get a package with my condominium that includes airfare and a rental car?
Yes! We have vacation counselors who specialize in packages, and who are eager to find you the lowest airfare and rental car rate to complete your vacation plans. Remember, you also earn Advantage Dollars on select travel bookings, which can be used towards future vacations!

What kind of cruise bookings and savings does my membership offer?
We promote what we call Member Appreciation Cruises which are popular sailings in which we secure group space. Savings to members are approximately 7% up to 35% off brochure rates. We also secure group space in which we can secure lower rates than an agency that does not invest in group space.

How do I place a condominium request?
Call our toll-free membership number and ask for the Condominium Department. Be sure to have the following information ready:
1) member identification number,
2) dates of travel,
3) vacation destinations desired,
4) the number of people traveling, and
5) the unit size desired. It’s that easy!!

What is the policy if I want to cancel my condominium?
If you need to cancel, and we can rebook the unit, we will issue you a voucher to be used on your next condominium vacation, less a $100.00 cancellation fee. If we are unable to rebook the unit you are still responsible for the week, however if you can find a guest to vacation in your place we will do a name change for a minimal $35.00 administration fee
